History of the 10 Tornesi Ferdinando II — Secondo Ritratto

The 10 Tornesi was the principal large copper denomination of the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies under the Bourbon monarchy. Ferdinand II, who ruled from 1830 to 1859, oversaw several issues of this coin across different portrait types. The second portrait series reflects the evolution of official royal iconography during his reign. As one of the last pre-unification coinages of southern Italy, these pieces are valued by collectors of Italian states numismatics.
